This speaker set up is awesome. KEEP IN MIND that this does not have a sub like the other setups that other manufacters sell. The large unit shown in the picture is what is called a Modulator. It gives you low end for the other 6 speakers. Almost like a sub, but not the samething at all. Pair this up a JBL 12″ powered sub with this setup and you are at the IMAX!! Trust me add a sub and your done. I have my setup powered by an Onkyo THX Ultra 2 certifed reciever and a 12″JBL powered sub in a 20×16 room and shakes the walls!

First off, I got a great deal on them (0.00 out the door with a 30 day return policy). So at that price I would give them a shot.
I am using a Kenwood KFR-9080 7.1 THX Select reciever that has high power, so I believe you need decent equipment to get the most out of the system.
I am really pleased with sound of this system, I have set up a Bose Lifestyle system before and it sounded ok, but not something I would ever buy. It is too limited with power and dvd playback.So using my Kenwood reciever I get very loud and fairly accurate sound. The first thing I watched on it was Avatar, I decided to keep them after that. The bass was pounding and made the movie very exciting to watch. I have found that normal listening to regular audio like cds you need to boost the treble a bit and cut back on the bass to get a nice clean sound.
