23 Dec 09 Is Cable or Satellite Best for Your Home Theater?
This can be a debate that goes forward until the end of time. We have found that most people in one camp or the other, there is very little middle. It's like the Hatfields and McCoys, Good vs. Evil, Cain vs. Abel. How do you know what is best?
The choices are is quite limited, you pay your cable company or pay a satellite provider. Here are the various advantages and disadvantages.
CABLE
Pros: Cheaper monthly fee as long as you do not want digital service. It leads to remainOperation in bad weather.
Cons: Even if you digital channels not all of them are digital, so you are stuck with some fuzzy analog channels on the beautiful theater system. Less than the HD satellite channels. Cable is not available everywhere.
SATELLITE
Pros: Every channel is digital. There are (at this time) more HD channels available than on cable. Satellite is available everywhere can see the southern sky. More special packages are available (eg sports,HD DVR options, etc.)
Cons: I personally think their ads are misleading. Satellite TV can be more expensive than you think and its 30 $-package has only 40 channels, of which no HD. It seems more hidden costs and you pay extra for more than one TV is on the service.
