I was looking for a decent stereo system that could play mp3 encoded cds, and discovered this Onkyo/Bose bundle. It comes with a good warranty, which suggests it should hold up to plenty of use.
This is an etremely good system for the money. It takes up very little space, but will fill a room with quality sound.
It’s hard to believe such a full sound can be obtained from these small components.
Be forewarned, if you like a lot of bass, you definitely need to tweak the Onkyo’s bass boost (I’m using the maximum setting). Other than that, the separation sounds fantastic – a lot of(good)detail is revealed, and there’s no distortion,
at least at the volume levels I’ve dared to try.
It would have been nice if the remote had a button to open/close the disc drawer, but otherwise it’s very functional.
